Ma integration is a mathematical method that uses the integral formula to find the areas of objects with varying dimensions. The formula is often employed in engineering and physics to calculate center of gravity and mass moment of inertia, and the kinetic energy that moving objects generate. It can also be used to determine the velocity of an item and its path.
In order to manage the integration of work streams requires committed and visible leadership as well as clear communication procedures. Cultural conflicts are a common reason for integration failure and can be caused by a shift from an acute care mindset towards a population-based perspective (Hardy and others). 1999; Coburn 2001). Leaders must promote and support the same vision throughout the organization, while creating an environment that supports this vision.
One of the most significant risks in integration is a loss of key talent. The lag time between new management structures and organizational structures, as well as the inability to address issues with culture lead to talented executives leaving for other opportunities. This loss can be reduced by ensuring that the management team remains intact during the transition and by establishing an employee identification system that is based more on the talent of employees than seniority.
Internal newsletters, project-management tools and interactive platforms can all be used to inform stakeholders of the progress made on integration milestones and allowing stakeholders the opportunity to give feedback. Meetings with stakeholders are an excellent way to communicate, maintain momentum, and increase trust and commitment. Regular updates keep employees involved in the process, and also highlight how the integration has enhanced the business’s performance and added shareholder value.
